Last year I was falling a sleep at the night shift. Radio Rock screemed though my earplugs and over the machines just loud eneough to hear the words. I can’t remember the song, nore the exact  line but it was something about a fight in china town. PAM the image struck me..

I asked Maiju to model for me in this project. She said yes and by my suprise was all for it!  During the year the weapon changed from a pistol to a sword, but the basic image stayed the same.

As always the image I went for is not the best pic of the shoot.  After we got the picture,  we started playing around. Lights, poses, angels. Along the shoot the pics got better and the last capture  is  truely one my best if not the best.

A huge thanks to Maiju for modeling,to Olli and Joonas for assisting, and to Hapien and Antti for lending  gear for the shoot. (lenses, sword, flashes..)

I hope that days like today stick deep in to my brain and stay there. Relaxed, fun, nothing special but a caching the essence of the summer. Should I dare to say that to day was a  series of very fortunate events..

Got these  these two portraits of Maiju and Iina. Nothing fancy but something to remember by. We hang around in the park. There were chance for some great photos of kids playing. I failed and didn’t have the guts to go ask the parrents if  I can  shoot their kids in this beautifu light softend by the trees around.

I also went camping last week.  Got the boat and went to the island of Ulkonuokko. Gorgeaus place with too many people thou. Scenery was not bad but Im still not a landscape shooter and cound not care less of it.. bad pic but something to show.

Okay, not much of a triptych but if you know the geezer you might think this is funny.

We spent the midsummer weekend at the Kaunissaari. Wonderfull island which I visit often during  summer.

From friday to sunday I managed to eat too much and drink little over 50 beers without getting a slightist of hangover. GREAT!

A very big thanks to family Kortelainen for being our host and let us use their sauna. Truly one of the best or not the best sauna I have ever bath in.

I did not shoot that much as I consentrated all my efforts on the chemical VR-system. Camera got some small damage but only to give it more street credibility.

What a stupid thing to do to drag a speedlight and remote trigers if not to use them.  Had to shoot this just so I could stuff the flash back to the bag.  I did try to teach Nina here the basics of photography. Im a horrible teacher.. or just too drunk..
