Plus side of my current summer job is the garage. I had a rainy day shoot with Spänä and his one true love.
I want my own bike and todays shoot did not exactly help me with the bike fewer. I am one or two light stand short and two strobes short of what I need. Most of my pictures I can do with one light, sometimes I need two or three strobes, but every now and than I find my self screaming for more lights. Please send your sb800′s to me.

Is flat..
No, not really but I am a slow learner thou. I had a half an hour with Anna yeasterday to try out some lighting scenarios. They did not work at all. Fifteen minutes in to the shoot and had not got a single decent image. Went back to a safer note, just to get one or two ok pics. Normaly I do the safe shots first.
Why it went wrong? I had certain look in my mind, what I wanted from the image and thought it needed a hard main light. I put a grided sb as a key light and shoot through as on axis fill. I struggled with the angle and the light ratios for far too long. Eventualy I got them close enough. Still the look was off, way off.. I mean startrek off, lightyears. So beam me up scotty, and let’s get back to the track..
So the whole shoot went to hell, but I learned..What?
- First of all the straw-grid if worthless as a key light when there is no ambient at all. The beam is just too tight. I have to make one with shorter straws and shorter hull.
- Second, the look I was after is still on the softer side of light so I will have to go with the shoot through still as a main light.
- Third, the silver umberella gives nice rim light. Hardish, but better than bare speedlight

This was shot at a local pub. My second home at the best of times. My distant paradise at the worst of times. Can’t really remember when this was shot. Found the .nef-file recently and gave it a kick in the groin.
Key light is a single light bulb with very dark shade. The rims come from the windows which are blured with some hazy texture.I like the look, although it is shot with iso 3200, which is not usable on the Nikon D200. My trusty old companion in crime.

I haven’t shot anything in weeks now. Quite normal but always frustrating.
I found this from the hard drive. In the years as a digital shooter I have lost only 4GB worth of images. I deleted a wrong folder after I thought I burned it on the dvd. Unfortunately this was among the images lost. Propably the only one I would miss.
