It was a different saturday for sure, don’t really know what else to say about it though… it was just.. different.
Here is couple of pics from todays shoot with Tatiana. I took my time to shoot, to think and it shows. Im not Joe McNally who can just ‘react to light. I still have to think what Im doing. Thanks to Tatiana for being patience as we shot for two hours..
By the way Olli called from the urinal of the pub. He said I can’t cut my hair because he want’s me to have a perm on and host a Napakymppi (=’bullseye’ a classic dating show on finnish tv) at the pub jaakko. “Well, well mr. C what do you think?”

Last photosession was a nightmare and I needed a good picture to gain some self confidence. Had this image in my head for a 6 moths or so. We shot a few portraits in the end of may and I noticed the neclace and ever since I wanted to do this very simple, elegant picture of Katja.
Ready to face new failure again..

Not too long ago I wrote: “If you haven’t noticed this is a not exactly a prophotoblog” .. that post was about taking pictures when drunk. Happy to say Im still no pro, and Im free to speak my mind and be honest about my photography. Thing is, no pro will ever show the crap they shot when they hit a slump!
Still every photog hits a slump everyu once a while. The brains melts down and the f-stops do not correlate to flash output. Or shutter burns the ambient. Result is a bad image or in my case a disaster. One of my favourite things to say is, ‘its always complitely the photographers fault if the images suck.’ My fault.
Hansu and Mari were fun and I think the shoot went well on their part. The photos here are the ones I did not mess up complitely. There would have been so much better pics, but … well uderexposed, focus on the background, flash that did not fire…. you name it, I made it. During the shoot I was distrackted and was not thinking. Like a former-gentleman I offered a reshoot if thing turn out be as I feared.

Samsung F2380 is sitting happily infront of me. Thel old monitor was hmmm … not so suitable for photoshopping. Next step is to calibrate ‘Sammy’ to get full benefit out of it.
Picture tells why I needed a new screen..

Its strange how difficult things get when you add up a second face infront of the lens. Huge thanks to Kasia and Philip for understanding the idiotic photog who draged them out in the cold just to freeze everone. The time spent in the studio was much professional either..
I haven’t been this lost in ages..
Some photos turned out ok and few even gave me more ideas where to go from here. Those are not pics that were complitely wrong. They have something going with them, just have to emphasize those elements and dim downt the irrelevant factros..
