Couple of things to do before you go and shoot something you never shot before.
1) Do your homework, research of your subjects and look at the pictures of others.
2) Copy&Paste and fly. Do the copycat thing. Its usefull, helpfull and will save your butt. Granted the pics woun’t be the most orginal ones, but you got something. At the end try to find your own angles.
3) Do as I say, not as I did.
I’ve been kinda burried to other things and just lacked the energy to flip through skate shots. Figured I’ll just wing it and it ought to do. Notebook was filled with lighting ideas which in a nutshell were: Nuke it and spot it.
Nuke it to give me at least something safe to work with.
Spot it to get some graphic high contrast black an whites. Like this. The location is a skate hall in Kotka. Its just around the corner where I live and did not even know it.
