Before the Midsummer Day

Its a big weekend coming up and Im heading over there  with good friends and plenty of everything except computers, facebook, cameras no nothing fancy. Before that I have plenty of editing to do and putting together the camera 101-stuff.

I think I’ve blogged abuot location scoutting at some point but I can’t find the post. Well in short I think location scoutting is a big deal and even now that I can produce decent image at anyplace I still feel bit unease if I don’t know where Im shooting at. This place is at end of a big path (barely big enough for a small car.) I came across it few years ago just by roaming around looking for locations. I did not shoot there but it stayed at the back of my head waiting for the perfect shoot.

Emmi was infront of the lens last December. It was cold then and the things were not much better this time. Courageously she fought the fleet of mosquitos the whole time we were shooting and got some bad hits.  With out complaining she posed, slapped the mosquitos and then posed  again. I don’t know how she managed but it was amazing! I had jeans on so the bloodthirstybitches did not trouble me so much. On top of the small buzzers she had to keep up with my bad directions.

Well, I hope the trip was worth the pain for her because I really like the images we came up with!

Big thanks to Emmi, next time I’ll have some some OFF-spray (insect repellent) for you.

Here the first pics. More to come.

edit. I’ve been informed that Emmi had 62 mosquito bites on her legs after the photoshoot. Holy shit!
