There are lots of shooters still who dont think about post processing at all. They are mentaly shooting kodakchrome althou never touched a film camera. Learn your photoshop or sell the gear and forget about ever being a pro.
Postprocessing does not have to be hevy, small things make the difference that counts.
Firt frame is straight out of lightroom, second went through photoshop. Five layers, less than fifteen minutes and chatting in the messenger at the same time..

Im not sure can this be described as roundup, but I’ll go with it.
Had a quick and late lunch so I woundn’t get hungry during the evening. Naturaly the first stop was to the restaurant to eat. I’ll pass, thanks.. coffee and coke please. My second great idea for the thursday was to shoot in two or even three locations.. yeah right. One location was enough.
I really have to say thanks to Mika, Anjuska, Eero and Hanna for doing this. Images speak for them selfs..
Anjuska getting scared of the monster light..

Mainlight from the dooway, and the kicker from a bare SB.

So cool setup…. there will more of these.

Hanna in available light..

Some behind the scenes pics..

Wuuh.. Long story short. Mika emailed me and asked if we could meet up and do shoot together? Didn’t have to think twice on that! Most of my so called ‘photoglife’ I’ve been shooting on my own. It would be fine, but I can be described as a people person so shooting wildlife aint exactly for me. Now after two years of bloging, spending time on the forums, it starts to pay back. Big time! Took Eero and Hanna with me. Mika brought Anjuska as a model wiht him.
This whole social part of the photography is really something! If only I knew where to start..so I woun’t start, yet.Im working on a peace on it though..
There we were.. two models, three photogs with 3 speedlights each, in an empty warehouse in the cape Katarina in Kotka. Hmf..
Hanna of couce.. ezybox and bare SB600 with red gel on it.

Anjuska doing cool poses. SB800 with CTO gel and zoomed all the way to 105mm, shooting light throgh a window..

Hanna in the basement. CTB gel sb600 for the bg. Sb800 in the doorway zoomed to 105mm and CTO-gel. Shot on tungsten whitebalance.

Used 7 speepdlights on this. A personal record. I put up and 8th sb800 through ezybox for Eero.. The setups was Mikas idea.

Okay, okay.. we did not have a real studio with three rangers, beatydishes and backdrops. Instead of we got six speelights between the two of us, one model and a white ‘almost seamless’ straight from the package. Couple of upcomming photogs running in our feet and one hairy monster biting the last peaces of mucle in our bodies.
Well spent two and half hours I’d say. You’ll be hearing from the Studio SB along the dark dark winter.
Thanks to Eero again for provinding the space, some speedlights, backdrop… and just being as he is a great fellow to work with. Hanna was uuh… well decide for your self. I can’t wish for a better model to work with on a regular bases. Lets hope her career will fly.. in karate! (who gives a shit about looking pretty when you punch a dumbass photog senseless with just one swing of the fist..)
Check out Eeros new website and blog..
Here are the firt frames..

This is actualy a copy of photo Hanna found online and aksed if I could shoot same kind of photo for her. Sure..

Nice and soft without the rimlight.

Bit of edge..
