We shot with Heidi for about four hours or so. I don’t know how but I got 20+ decent frames in that time. Must have been a record of sorts. Okay some duplicates because I could not decide between the color and black and white.

So there more pictures in these few last post than ever before. More on flickr and facebook.

Day before yesterday I was again talking to Janne online and asked if he would come to Kotka for a similar shoot if I can find a model. Too many if’s so I had my doubts. Two hours and dozen phone calls and mesages later we had three models and an assistant who all agreed to come for a quick shoot. I invited two more photogs to come around and Maiju Siekkinen (the stylist) had a day off so she tagged along to shoot some pictures as well

Maiju had some great images  and I hope that she does not take up photography too seriously because I’d be without of a work very quickly.  Useless.

Anyways, more to come and two wedding albums still to waiting to be published here.. ouh my.

I just came home and its almost midnight. I shot the last wedding of the summer tonight and had a blast. At one point the bride came and said that “you are off duty, start drinking!” I took couple of beers but shot pictures untill I left.  Can’t help it anymore. Im a lost cause.

WTF! Wedding photo infront of a dumpster.

There is a small story behind this. It orginates form this talk given by Zack Arias. (about 20 minutes in to the talk.) Its about doing the unexpected. Wedding shooter Cliff Mautner says that in wedding photography the wierder the better.  Green dumpster is fun, unexpected and weird.

Another side of the picture is me interacting with the client for the closure of the day. I was about to leave the venue and let the folks continue their party through the night.  I could not just leave the place and say byebye. I needed something cool,  something fun that they might remeber.

Saw this ugly ass dumpster outside and Zacks words popped in to my head.  Also I have desperetly wanted to do a beding shot for quite some time but never had a reason for it, until now. I went to the bride and said that I am about to leave but there is one shot I want to take and I’ll be back in ten after I’ve setted up. Did not tell her what I was up to.

The folks were at the terrace cooling down and we got a pretty good crowd. And a applouse after we were done.

After sitting here every night for hours editing wedding pictures in the Lightroom the  righthand forefinger starts to switch. Its not the cramps from klicking, its  something worse.

A need to shoot, a need to take the camera and do something.

Sounds creepy? It is.

I called up Henna and asked if she would not mind modeling for hour or so.

Don’t really know what I was thinking thou.  Asked her to wear something simple so it will be easier to move around the rocks. Then I asked if she could bring high heels. Fail. But it worked.
